Self Evaluation Project 2

I feel much better about this project than the first. I think I really used my strengths. I think my point was clear and represented well. It was a different kind of critique, and I was worried that since I couldn't explain my piece most people would have trouble getting it. But in discussion everyone basically said what I wanted to say anyway. I was very happy with it.

That being said my project does have problems.

1. The font is copied from Marlboro cigarettes.

2. The baby is copied from an image on the internet.

3. There is a red smudge I couldn't get off of it. Luckily it almost looked intended and no one said anything about it haha.

Comments:

I like Daniel Joseph Martinez. He has definitely found his niche in art. He questions unjust things that most people just blow right over. He makes me think about important topics, and he makes me aware of what is happening in a very “over the top” way.

Wenda Gu is all over the place. You never know what he will do next. Some of his art disgusted me. I like that he is diverse though. Used tampons? No thanks! His mediums are stuff that is out of the ordinary.

1. Daniel J Martinez for the most part is political. He just bashes issues left and right.
2. Wenda Gu is crazy! Not my cup of tea. I am give him creative points but jeeze man!
3. These artist both use different mediums. They both definitely say something BOLD in their art.
